SUSE 10.2

Installation

openSUSE-10.2-GM-x86_64-mini.iso

(Open Suse 10.2 x86_64 (64 bit) Intel or AMD, mini CD for Network installation)

1. Download ISO

   Torrent: Full List of OS 10.2Torrents

   Full Download listing page: http://download.opensuse.org/

2. Burn or write CD,

   CD-R (size 47 MB)

3. Boot off CD

   Make sure PC is using CD-ROM as bootable device

4. Choose Installation of System
5. Choose Install via Network
6. Choose Via HTTP

   AUTO IP configuration via DHCP

   No Proxy

   IP of HTTP server: http://195.135.221.130 (IP of download.opensuse.org)

   Directory: /pub/opensuse/distribution/10.2/repo/oss

   Others: mirrors.tds.net

7. Select English
8. Select "Yes" for I agree with license.
9. Select "Mode: New Installation"
10. (10 minutes passes as downloading paackages for System Analysis)
11. Set Time Zone

(i.e. Pacific and Local Time)

1. Desktop Selection

1. Installation Summary

Create one large partition (erase the given proposal for partition into seperate /home )

1. Perform Installation
2. Root Password
3. Hostname
4. Network
5. Online Update
6. Users
7. Clean Up
8. Release Notes
9. Hardware Configuration
